Faith Kipyegon to race the 1000m at Wanda Diamond League Xiamen

The great middle- and long-distance runner from Kenya will go up against her own African record of 2:29.15 at the Red Star Macalline Wanda Diamond League April 26th.

Even though the distance is not raced that often, the top lists are strong. Kipyegon`s African record from 2020 is the second fastest in history. The standing World Record was set back in 1996 by Svetlana Masterkova (RUS) with 2:28.98.
The five times Wanda Diamond League Final Champion will be one of the top athletes to watch in Xiamen. Kipyegon is one of the most merited Athletes in Athletics with her 3 Olympic titles, 4 times World Champion, and she is the current World Record holder in the 1500m with 3:49.04 from last year. She is also the World Record holder in the Mile with 4:07.64 from 2023.
We can`t wait to watch Faith Kipyegon running two and a half laps in Egret Stadium in April.
