Tickets have gone on sale for the 2026 Wanda Diamond League meeting in Xiamen, which will see a host of the world’s top athletes gather in the Chinese city on May 23.
Last year’s meeting saw Norwegian superstar Karsten Warholm smash the world best for 300m hurdles, clocking 33.05, and the 30-year-old will return to Xiamen’s Egret Stadium this year to contest the 400m hurdles.
The world record holder will look to become the Wanda Diamond League champion for a fourth time this year, adding to his three world titles and Olympic gold and silver medals in the 400m hurdles. Gong Debin, who set a Chinese record of 48.68 to win the National Games last year, will also be in the line-up and is sure to have lots of support from a sizable home crowd.
Among the other stars set to compete in Xiamen are Italian long jumper Mattia Furlani, the 21-year-old who had a spectacular 2025, winning the world indoor and world outdoor titles. He started 2026 in equally impressive fashion, setting an Italian indoor long jump record of 8.39m last month.
US sprint hurdler Cordell Tinch will compete in Xiamen for a fourth consecutive year and the 25-year-old, the reigning world champion and Wanda Diamond League champion in the 110m hurdles, will look to replicate his victory in Xiamen last year.
Australia’s Jessica Hull, the world 2000m record holder who won Olympic 1500m silver in 2024 and world bronze in 2025, will compete in Xiamen for the first time, the 29-year-old taking on a world-class field in the women’s 1500m.
The meeting in Xiamen has been growing in stature with each passing year and a huge crowd is again expected for its 2026 edition. Among the Chinese stars set to compete are Wu Yanni, the hugely popular sprint hurdler who set a national indoor record in the 60m hurdles last year and claimed bronze at the Asian Championships outdoors. The 28-year-old will pit her talents against a world-class field in the women’s 100m hurdles.
